Interpreter/Translator/Foreign Language Teacher

About me:

My name is Ahmed. I am a professional interpreter and translator. I graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in interpreting and translation in 2007 (Arabic, English and German (University of Oran, Algeria).

At the moment I work as a foreign language teacher. I teach German, Russian, Italian and Dutch to grown-ups and children from the age of 12 in a private language school (Metro Languages). I have experience in teaching other languages too, such as English, French, Spanish and Arabic to Russian students. I worked as a language teacher for two years in Russia. I give also online lessons using computer softwares such as: Skype and Google Meet. Distance learning for me has many advantages, one of them is that it spares you the time and energy you spend on going to a real classroom. On the other hand it has disadvantages that can’t be compensated in no way. My students' levels range from total beginners (A1) to advanced levels (B2). I use the communicative method, which is based on real life situations in the target language.

As an interpreter I have a near native fluency level in the following languages (C1): English, Russian, French, German, Italian and Spanish. I can speak, write and understand all of them. As for: Portuguese, Polish and Dutch, I have a B2 level. I speak them almost fluently. I have an intermediate level in Swedish (B1). My level in Turkish is A2. Arabic is my mother tongue. The fields in which I can proficiently interprete and translate in the C1 languages include: IT, mechanics and medicine. As for the (B2) languages I can interprete at international expositions, business meetings. I can translate and localize websites for different industry sectors (It, car manufacture, medicine…).

I consider myself to be a patient, calm and understanding person with an ear to the client's needs. I would like to work in the following fields: Teaching, Industry or tourism. My preferred positions in the tourism industry would be in the front desk, working as a Guest Relations Officer. I have prior experience working in a call center (A french online language school based in Montpellier in France). This position gave me a real insight into what high service standards mean. Different clients have different needs, that’s why a good CRO should always live up to the client's expectations. As for the teaching job I prefer a part-time position with a fixed schedule for groups and individual classes. Exceptions can always be made by adapting to the learner's time schedule and opting for a flexible timing. Learner’s age preferably starting from 12 years. I have no experience in teaching children.

Main responsibilities:

Translating documents (personal: passports, diplomas, certificates; Judicial: court decisions; Technical: machinery manuals, datasheets; Medical: health reports, medical records)-Arabic, French, Italian.
